Welcome to DATA-MATION
Data-driven Methods and Tools for Design Innovation
Funded by Croatian Science Foundation
AI has the potential to revolutionize innovation by becoming a transformative “method of invention,” reshaping both the innovation process and the organization of R&D. This potential makes research on data-driven design and AI in design one of the most exciting and multidisciplinary topics in the design research community today. By augmenting human intelligence with advanced digital visualizations, computational models, and AI tools, the industry can tackle the increasing complexity of product design, manufacturing, and value chains.
The DATA-MATION project is driven by the ambition to advance this frontier. It seeks to develop a research framework for experimental studies in the data-driven design paradigm, focusing on engineering design and development projects. The project’s outcomes aim to overcome traditional limitations in scale, scope, and learning within design processes. By applying data-driven methodologies and AI tools, the project aspires to enable more user-centered, creative, and adaptive solutions, supported by continuous learning iterations throughout the entire system life cycle.
